Every year, children look forward to their birthdays being celebrated by family, friends, classmates, and more. Birthday parties allow children and their parents to connect with their communities, celebrate life and spread happiness, but COVID-19 has canceled many traditional birthday celebrations.
As many states continue to make progress in slowing the spread of COVID-19, state mandates are becoming less stringent and more opportunities to celebrate in traditional ways. But if you choose to celebrate your child’s birthday with an in-person party, here are some helpful tips to keep everyone safe.
• Guests are required to wear face masks per CDC guidelines.
• Keep non-family members 6 feet apart.
• All party attendees must wash their hands upon arrival and frequently during and before leaving.
• Surfaces should be disinfected regularly, especially after the party is over.
• Seats must be 6 feet apart.
• Use disposable plates, cutlery and cups.
• Food must be single servings and snacks and chips must be bagged separately.
• If you prefer a socially distanced celebration, consider birthday car parades and video parties as popular alternatives.
No matter how you decide to celebrate your child’s birthday this year, it’s important that they feel loved on their special day.
