Cake4Kids needs volunteers and donations as they gear up for a busy fall.
This non-profit provides cakes to underprivileged children who would not normally be able to receive cakes on special occasions.

“We don’t just bake cakes for birthdays and graduations. But if an agency needs to do a party or a fundraiser, when the holidays come around, we certainly make cakes for those occasions as well.” I’m going to bake,” said Ray, Biller, Coachella Valley Cake4Kids chapter ambassador.
Cake4Kids works with several partner institutions to deliver homemade cakes directly to children, baked completely free by volunteers.
These agencies include Olive Crest, CFLC Sheltering Palms Foster Family Agency, Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, The Boys and Girls Club at Cathedral City, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert.
“Early in my career, I worked with at-risk youth, children from underprivileged families and communities, so I felt I missed that. It was a great opportunity.” Elizabeth Campos, Cake4Kids Volunteer Baker.

The nonprofit launched locally in March 2022 and has been a hit since, said Coachella Valley Cake4Kids chapter ambassador Ray Biller.
“When I first started looking to see if there was anything I really needed in the valley here, I wasn’t quite sure what I would find, but I was a little overwhelmed with what I found,” Biller said.
“We found that 60% of the children in our school district in this valley are living below the poverty line,” he added.

Cake4Kids will be holding its first fundraiser in the Coachella Valley on Wednesday, August 17th at the One Eleven Bar in Cathedral City. Anyone interested in the event is welcome to attend.
