Tips for Thrift Store Shopping
First off, I have to say that I found some GREAT STUFF at Goodwill. I have a couple of tips I go by when I thrift shop:
Because its inexpensive, dont purchase it just. Purchase it since you enjoy it!
Ask what the color of the day is, that means its 50% off.
When looking for pieces, think outside the color because that can always be altered.
If there is something wrong with the piece, ask for a discount.
Heres all the loot I got this time around. Take a look at all my thrift shop loot the very first time around!
Suggestion number three was valuable in this case since, I was drawn to the shape of these pots, but they didnt match the décor design I was opting for. Here they are BEFORE.
Usage Spray Paint to Match the Party Decor
Now, a Christmas themed teapot entirely fits my design style for this celebration. These little flower pots would likewise make a great DIY present for a mom, instructor, or buddy.
All I did was just spray paint them with Krylons Metallic Gold Paint
( two light coats)..
This teapot had a cracked cover, but thats OKAY! It was dirt low-cost and I do not require the lid anyhow since I am utilizing it as a flower vase. By the method, I will be using fresh flowers at the celebration … simply sayin …
So, thrift store shopping is a wonderful way to save cash when embellishing for fun events like this!
After the celebrations you can turn the teapots into repurposed bird feeders!
