Companies have anniversaries, not birthdays. But they love to anthropomorphize a little. It’s a little weird, but anniversary cakes aren’t flavors, so if the store is serving some kind of birthday cake flavor, it’s forgivable.
Caribou Coffee does just that. A birthday cake latte that was born to commemorate the 30th anniversary. The drink combines the predictable espresso and steam his milk with cupcake flavors, whipped his cream, and “festive sugar.”
With over 400 locations, Caribou Coffee celebrates with its cake-themed coffee offerings. It will be in stores for “Birthday Week” from Monday, December 12th to December 18th.
To celebrate, “local TV/radio personality” and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen will pop into the Twin Cities location as surprise guest baristas around the Minnesota home base.
At least it’s not like the 12 days of Christmas promotions you’ll find at other chain stores like McDonald’s, Dunkin’ and Denny’s. The deal is attractive, but the angle is a little boring.
