Muskegon, Michigan – Amanda’s Frosted Dreams has grown into a neighborhood staple in the Muskegon area for getting decadent sweet treats.
Muskegon Bakery offers classic and unique cupcakes, cakes and other items.
For owner Amanda Price, cake making started as a hobby and has since grown into a thriving business.
Price officially licensed to operate at 1375 Creek Dr. in Muskegon in 2019.
Since then, Price has provided pickup and delivery of a variety of baked goods including cupcakes, cheesecakes, cake cups and custom cakes.
“Baking has always been a stress reliever and a hobby,” Price said. “It became something I gave as a gift. It was my gift to you. Any birthday cake, no matter how fancy.”
Price said he didn’t start developing his bread-making skills and ideas until he was laid off from his job in 2016. As the years went by and Price got more positive feedback, he took the next step and started to benefit from what he once had. just a hobby.
Now, with the support of her family, Price has a growing fan base for her unique work.
Customers from the Muskegon area and surrounding areas flocked to Amanda’s Frosted Dreams to pick up bestsellers like Butter Pecan Cupcakes and Strawberry Crunch Cake Cups.
Other flavors include German Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet, Hazelnut Turtle, Neapolitan, Lemon Cake, and Chocolate Covered Strawberry.
All cupcakes can be ordered for half a dozen for $10, a dozen for $15, and 24 for $25. Customers can also choose between homemade whipped cream frosting or buttercream frosting.
“I play with all flavors,” said Price. “If I don’t have a particular flavor that I like, it’s always an interesting challenge for me. I’m not a key lime person, but I made a key lime cake for someone.”
Price touts the business as a unique place to indulge in nostalgia and try something new with a little twist.
“Usually that’s my favorite part of Amanda’s Frost Dreams or Dreams part,” she said. I like the nostalgia of flavors that aren’t there.”
