Let me start by saying this: I am not a parent. So I said. Let’s move on.
I don’t have any children of my own, but I have helped organize and plan quite a few children’s birthday bashes on my day. When it hits the summer months, it means it’s a lot easier to put together a party.
Summer birthdays are easier to plan than winter ones. For one, not everyone is in school, so there is no need to plan school activities, sports, etc. Second, there seem to be a lot more options when it comes to venues when planning a summer birthday party.
When I was a kid, you could (almost) always expect a pool party if someone’s birthday was in the summer.
Well, summer 2022 is over here in South Jersey and it’s time to bring the party back indoors. Temperatures are currently relatively bearable until probably early December, but depending on how long you’re planning your party, you may not want to hold it in a location that requires you to be outdoors all the time.
This kind of inspiration can always be found on social media. A South Jersey mother asked advice on where to throw her 5-year-old son’s birthday party in her local Facebook group. South Jersey had a lot of suggestions. That said, I must also mention that three specific locations were the most suggested.

3.) Storybook Land
Do you have a 5-year-old kid who doesn’t like the magic of fairy tales? Storybook Land is a great option when hosting a party for very young children. Everyone from age 3 to her 10 will love the princesses, fairy tale characters and age-appropriate rides. You can check out their birthday party packages here.

2.) Dave & Busters
Well, it’s a bit of a drive, but up the Atlantic City Expressway, you can catch your child’s birthday at Dave & Buster’s in Gloucester Township. Close to Gloucester Outlets. Dave & Buster’s is a great option for an older child and her teens. My parents love it there too. Check out their party options here.

1.) Funny Farm Rescue
If the birthday boy or girl likes animals, they need to make plans with Laurie and the family at Maze’s Landing’s Funny Farm. This is the place most suggested by the locals. It’s fun, interactive, and gets kids out in the fresh air for a while. Submit this form to request a private girlfriend event at your farm.
