Fellow residents, firefighters, and others from the community gathered to celebrate. It’s more than I expected and it’s nice to see him get some recognition for his life here in Pennsylvania. Call this big Murray a party. I was very surprised. Thanks for coming. And Representative Tom, you see Harry presenting with a certificate from the State Legislature, Harry also received a blanket from the group His Blanket of Honor and Organizer. On Thursday, the Lancaster County Air Force Veterans Celebration was held. Harry Dyer is celebrating his 102nd birthday. A surprise birthday party was held for him at Reems Nursing Home. Fellow residents, firefighters and other community members came to celebrate. “Oh, I was amazed that there was such a big party! I was very, very surprised. Thank you for coming,” said Harry. Rep. Tom Jones presented Harry with a certificate from the state legislature. Harry also received a blanket from the Blankets of Honor group. The organizers also had a goal of getting 102 people to send them birthday cards, but Harry got his 150.
