Graceland welcomes fans nationwide and around the world for its annual gala celebrating Elvis Presley’s January 8th birthday.
To mark Presley’s 88th birthday, Graceland will host a variety of events celebrating the rock and roll icon. This includes the annual Elvis Birthday Declaration Ceremony, the Memphis Symphony Concert with Terry His Mike His Jeffrey, and a panel discussion on Elvis. In addition, there are several shows and screenings of King’s “Aloha From Hawaii” concert marking his 50th anniversary.
As 2023 begins, much of Presley’s momentum is still in last year’s blockbuster biopic Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann. Graceland has announced that a new exhibition titled ‘The Making of Elvis’ will open at Elvis Presley’s Memphis on January 8th.

Elvis birth announcement ceremony

The annual birthday cake cutting and Elvis Presley Day proclamation by Memphis and Shelby County officials takes place on Graceland’s North Lawn. Following the proclamation, Vernon’s Smokehouse across from the mansion will serve free cake and coffee.
