Not only did the toddler get a buttercream vanilla cake for his birthday, but the cake itself was decorated with a tiara and wand.
Fort Myers, FL — as Ft. Myers has recovered from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Ian. The Publix bakery employees went above and beyond to make the girl’s 3rd birthday extra special.
Caroline Rollins who lives in Fort. Miss Myers went to her Sky Walk location in Publix on Friday to buy her daughter Anna’s birthday cake.
Ms. Rollins wasn’t able to get the cake because the store was out of luggage and supplies, but she admitted it was unlikely because of the storm. After that, she continued shopping.
But about five minutes later someone tapped her on the shoulder.
“Hey, I just went back and looked in the freezer and there was actually cake,” employee Natasha told Rollins.
Not only did Anna get a vanilla buttercream cake for her birthday, but thanks to Natasha’s help, the cake itself was decorated with a tiara and wand.
“[Natasha] “What is she into?” I asked. And I said, ‘She’s a pink princess of anything.
It’s safe to say the cake put a smile on Anna’s face — Rollins shared a video of Natasha showing it off, sparking excitement in the little girl.
“You can’t teach little kids how to react,” Rollins said. “She was really excited and Natasha opened the cake and she gave this little happy tap with her foot.”
Rollins said she wants to make sure Natasha knows the value she brings to the community, especially in the wake of the destruction Ian has wreaked on Ft. Myers. Rollins took to Facebook to share the story on Sunday afternoon. Since then it has seen hundreds of reactions, comments and shares.
Rollins stopped by the store on Monday to see if Natasha was working, although it was her day off.
“Managers knew the story right away,” Rollins said. “She saw it and sent it to her boss. I’m honestly so excited.” [Natasha] to see positive feedback. ”
Rollins said she hopes to stop by the Publix store each week to connect with Natasha because it’s close to where her family lives.
