After sharing their birthday on TikTok, many described the event as “every kid’s dream party.”
However, a stranger quickly determined that little girl Murphy “wasted money” on her Australian parents on her first birthday, which she “never remembered.”
“My husband and I remember partying at McDonald’s when we were younger and it was always fun, so we decided to have a Makkah-themed party,” Maggie tells 7Life.

“We rented an inflatable slide, a ball pit, a slushy machine and a toddler playground for all the kids,” says Magee.
“All the guests love it, especially the kids.
Partygoers were treated to hamburgers, fries, and cake.

A couple purchased a used playground on eBay.

The mother decided to post Murphy’s first birthday video on TikTok on November 23rd of this year. The post has already racked up more than 3 million views for her.

Not everyone was impressed, however, with many ‘offended’ people calling their mother a ‘bad parent’.
“After our video went viral on TikTok, people said we spoiled our daughter too much and thought we wasted money on her 1st birthday,” Maggie said. says.
“Some people were upset that the food wasn’t healthy – our 1 year old didn’t eat McDonald’s like it was for our guests.
“It’s been hard to get some nasty comments, but people complain about everything these days and it’s easy to label them as bad parents, so I try not to worry about it.
“The people who called me a ‘bad parent’ never had children of their own, so I don’t think they realize how big a milestone a first birthday can be for some people.
“Especially after years of trying to conceive and miscarrying along the way.”
Despite the backlash, her mother says she wiped it out.
“I laughed at being labeled a bad parent,” she says.
“I used to think that a bad parent was someone who never celebrated their child’s birthday.”
The mother wanted to share her story and call out all cruel strangers on social media.
“We wanted to share our story to illuminate just how awkward and quick-to-judge people can be online,” she says.
