Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) – “Unfortunately, there has been another murder at a short-term rental property in my neighborhood over the past few years,” said Sean Parker, a member of the 5th District Metro Council. rice field. “It’s becoming a safety issue in our community. It’s a burden for our police.”
One person is dead and two are seriously injured after a shooting at a short-term rental townhome on 700 Block Douglas Avenue in East Nashville. A woman booked a townhome for her 20th birthday party, and Metro Police was attended by at least 20 people.
A neighbor told News2 that the area is generally quiet, with the exception of the occasional group of noisy visitors at a nearby rental property.
“One of the problems is that some people have the impression that if you sign a short-term lease, the facility is free for everyone,” says Parker. “it’s not.”
The Metro Nashville Code Authority said the state retains most authority over short-term rental properties. Within a 12-month period, he would need three arrests, three convictions, and three full appeals proceedings to have his license revoked.
