Annual Annapolis Santa Speedrun
Grab your Speedo and get ready to run!
The annual Santa Speed Run (and Toy Drive) will take place on December 20th at 1:15 PM, starting and ending at Blackwall Hitch at 400 Sixth Street in Eastport.
To participate, you’ll need a Speedo-like swimsuit (preferably red). Then add sneakers, a Santa hat, or a beard. Wear clothes over your bathing suit and bring a bag to put your clothes in while you run.
Attendees meet at 11am for check-in and drinks, change into their bathing suits at 1pm, and run through downtown Annapolis for a post-run party at 1:30pm. Please bring toys. Or children’s books.

midnight madness — Annapolis’ annual Midnight Madness Celebration continues tonight, with downtown, State Circle, and Maryland Avenue shopping precincts open until midnight for holiday shopping. Look for live music and visits from Santa on the streets. Many merchants offer free refreshments. holiday magic — Look for holiday magic in the Village of West Annapolis on Saturday from 10am to 7pm. Shops offer specials and free horse and carriage rides while Santa is visiting. http://www.westannapolisbusiness.org.
santacon — The 2nd annual Annapolis SantaCon for a Cause takes place Saturday at 11:00 am. Santa was invited to wear his suit and parade through the city streets while raising money for the Chesapeake Kids. Participants will visit seven restaurants and bars, starting at Ram’s Head Tavern on West Street. Group photo at Ego Alley at 12:45 PM. General admission is $20. http://www.hospicehundred.org.

holiday candlelight straw — Take a guided tour of the historic Annapolis District and learn about the origins of many holiday customs at the annual Holiday Candlelight Stroll. The 90-minute tour runs at 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays (no tours this Saturday) and departs from the City Dock Information Booth. $12 to $18. http://www.annapolistours.com.
light display — Both power and sail boats dazzle with holiday lights during the annual Eastport Yacht Club Light Parade on Saturdays at Spa Creek and Ego Alley from 6-8pm. Skippers join in for the fun and circle the waterfront in two fleets. One circled in front of the Eastport, City Docks and Naval Academy seawalls, and his other fleet circled the length of Spa Creek inside the bridge. Around 7:00 PM, the fleet switches routes. Ballet “The Nutcracker” — The Maryland Ballet Theater presents Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, one of the greatest Christmas parties ever. see the light — The 20th annual Lights on the Bay will be held nightly through January 1 at Sandy Point State Park at 1100 Annapolis East College Parkway. Hours of operation are 5-10 PM daily, including public holidays. On this tour, he enjoys a two-mile scenic drive along the Chesapeake Bay, enjoying 70 animated and stationary displays that light up the driveway.
