How to use your ballot as a scorecard
Nothing is more fun than predicting which candidate will win each category…and see if your guesses are actually correct! There is room to track the forecast of
Once the Academy Awards begin, you can use your ballot as a scorecard. Track the winners in each category and assign points for each category you guess correctly. We encourage you to disseminate the following points:
- Best photo = 10 points
- Best Actor/Actress = 5 points
- All others = 2 points
If you are hosting a party, whoever has the most points at the end of the ceremony wins. Give the winner a small prize to make things even more exciting. For example, a bottle of wine, a movie trivia game or book, or my favorite idea, one of these gold medal trophies him.

The 95th Annual Academy Awards will air on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PST on ABC.
Most of the nominated films are available to stream, but some are only available in theaters.

To use your one-page ballot, just print it. For multi-page ballots, the pages can be split and ribboned. This is easy to do and looks very festive (perfect for parties).
Supplies
Tip: Over the years, I’ve used different methods of putting these ballots together. Check out my ideas from 2015 to 2022 for more inspiration (we love this layered look!).

These printable templates are super easy to assemble! Follow these step-by-step instructions.
- Cut the ballot paper in half. Start by downloading the ballot PDF (found at the end of this post) and print it out (full size) on card stock. Cut the ballot in half using a self-healing mat, ruler, and utility knife. Tip: Letter size paper is 11 inches long, so 5.5 inches on the center. For the cleanest results, cut two pages at a time.
- Punch a hole in the page. Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top center of each page, roughly halfway between the edge and the text. You can find the exact center by eye or by measuring the ballot. Make sure the holes on all pages line up. Tip: After punching the first page, use the holes as guides for the other pages.
- ready ribbon. Cut 8 inches of ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half, thread the raw end of the ribbon through the hole, and pull from the back to the front of the ballot (roll the ribbon to fit, if necessary). After voting, there should be a ribbon loop on the back of your ballot.
- Thread the end of the ribbon through the loop. Thread the end of the ribbon through the loop and pull tight to secure the ribbon in place. Slightly offset the ribbon to align it correctly.
- trim ribbon. Finally, cut the ends of the ribbon with scissors. The ends are cut diagonally toward the center, but you can bend them in the opposite direction (or the same direction) if you prefer.
That’s all. Not only does it look great, packaging your pages this way keeps everything tidy and you don’t have to worry about losing pages.

If you have a finicky printer like I do, save yourself the grief and take the file to your local FedEx Office (Kinkos) and ask them to print it on white card stock. Anyway, the print quality is much better than any home printer. You can also order online and pick up in store (a great time saver!).
